I’m afraid.

I have this fear that one day you’ll finally get a good look at me and I’m going to disappoint you because you’ll see that I’m not as strong or as good as you think I am. And I’m afraid that it will change the way you think about me.
..so I guess you’re right; I’m afraid to let my guard down. I’m afraid that if you know who I am, your feelings will change. And I’m afraid that once my barrier is defeated and I’m comfortable, that you’ll walk away. Because that’s what everyone’s always done anyway.
